Bereavement Support

Often the support you are given at the time of a bereavement can come to an abrupt end once the funeral is over, which is why we offer our Bereavement Support Group.

Bereavement Friendship and Support Group Meetings Are Held:

Eye – The Hexagon, Broad Street, Eye, IP23 7AD | The Second Sunday of Each Month | 2-4pm      Meeting Dates 2024

Harleston – Please ask for details of the Harleston group meetings.

If you are interested in attending or would like more information please contact us on:
Telephone: 01379 851253 (Harleston, Norfolk) or 01379 871168 (Eye, Suffolk) or email us.

These meetings are designed each month for people to find out what practical help is available, meet new faces and friends or to simply have a coffee, some company and a chat.  You may find that talking to somebody who has been through a similar experience can be very healing.
These meetings are open to everyone, no matter how long ago your loss, your age or religion.

Everyone who attends the group shares one thing in common, they have all lost somebody.
Your loss is unique to you and you will cope with it in your own way, and although bereavement is highly personal, many people go through a similar range of emotions and reactions following a death.
Sharing these emotions and thoughts with someone who has been through it as well, can sometimes benefit you.

Support Group Following a Loss by Suicide

Meetings are held Every 4th Wednesday of the month 7.15pm – 8.45pm at Palgrave Community Centre, 10 Upper Rose Lane, Palgrave, Diss IP22 1AP

This support group has been set up for those who have been bereaved following a loss by suicide.

As you will well know, loss through suicide is a very difficult thing to discuss with others who have lost loved ones to other causes.

The group is here for you to be able to meet others who have also been bereaved in the same way.

The group facilitator is Susan.  Susan has run bereavement groups for many years but realises the difficulties those bereaved in this way have in a mainstream group.

Susan holds a diploma in counselling, a TQUK Level 2 certificate in Self Harm and Suicide awareness and prevention.  She is also a mental health first aider and holds a diploma in Funeral Directing.

Our other co-ordinator experienced a loss through suicide and understands the importance of being able to talk about your  feelings without the difficulties that can be experienced when talking to those who have not been bereaved due to suicide.
